Iranian regime abducts Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrokh Ahmadi – with no information about their whereabouts

Re-posted from Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign

On February 7th 2023 security agents of the Iranian regime abducted Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrokh Ahmadi, two well-known labour activists, near their homes and transferred them to an unspecified part of Evin Prison.

It was only through a phone call that these experienced activists were able to inform their families about their situation.

Even after over a week in detention, the Iranian regime has not given any reason for their arrest. The families of Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrokh Ahmadi have not been given any detailed information about their charges, except that their case involves security matters.

The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the abduction and continuing detention of Siamak Ebrahimi and Shahrokh Ahmadi, and calls for their immediate and unconditional release. We urge all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, political prisoners and social rights’ activists in Iran.
