Revolutionary Socialist Movement (RSM) Nigeria demands Immediate and Unconditional Release of Arrested Pan-African Activists in Kenya
We strongly condemn the brutal crackdown carried out by the Kenyan police on anti-imperialist protesters in Nairobi on May 12, 2026, during demonstrations against the so-called Africa Forward Summit.
At least 12 pan-African activists and international delegates were arrested as security forces violently dispersed protesters who had gathered to oppose the summit, which is a platform for imperialist powers, multinational corporations and African ruling elites to deepen the exploitation of the continent.
The arrested activists were exercising their democratic right to peaceful assembly and expression. Their only “offence” was to challenge the continued plunder of Africa’s resources and the collaboration of African governments with neoliberal policies that have impoverished millions of working people.
We stand in solidarity with the detained comrades and all anti-imperialist forces across Africa. We call for their immediate and unconditional release and for all charges against them to be dropped without delay.
The violent repression in Kenya once again demonstrates the fear of the capitalist establishment and its state apparatus toward any movement that seeks to build a united struggle of workers, youth and oppressed peoples against imperialism and exploitation.
The Africa Forward Summit does not represent the interests of ordinary Africans. It serves as a forum where political elites and corporate interests discuss how to intensify privatization, debt dependency, austerity and the looting of Africa’s wealth.
RSM Nigeria reiterates that the future of Africa lies in the collective struggle of workers, students, farmers and the poor to build a socialist society based on public ownership, democratic control of resources and genuine liberation from capitalist exploitation.
We will join forces with all genuine change seekers fighting for a better Africa free from US, French and British domination. They continue the pillage of African resources while millions of Africans live in absolute poverty. We have always stood against the puppet African leaders aligned with imperialism. We call on African working people to build an anti-imperialistmovement to sweep away the neo-colonial bandits and fight for a socialist confederation of Africa.
We urge trade unions, socialist organizations, student groups and all democratic forces across Africa and internationally to speak out against this repression and demand justice for the arrested activists.

No to Imperialist Domination of Africa!
For a Socialist Africa Built by Workers and the Poor!
