Britain: Your Party in new crisis- Interview with Nigel Smith

We’re meeting Nigel Smith, a member of the Calder Valley Your Party (YP) proto-branch. In this interview, Nigel discusses the latest developments in YP. The recent Central Executive Committee elections, where the Corbyn slate called “The Many” achieved a majority, and the decision to ban “dual membership”, in effect excluding members of socialist organizations that have played a key role in building YP braches, has thrown the party in a new crisis. We asked Nigel to explain what’s behind these recent moves of the leadership and how we got here. We also asked whether the dynamic shown initially for YP can be regained.
