In this interview, we turn our attention to a new development in British politics that could — if things go in the right direction — shake up the Left in the country, but also have global repercussions. An organisation transitionally named Your Party (YP), led by former Labor MPs Jeremy Corby and Zarah Soultana, held its inaugural conference in Liverpool last weekend.
YP was officially registered in September 2025, and in its initial phase 800.000 people expressed their interest in becoming members. The party today claims a membership of around 50-55,000 people, which is far from the 800.000 mark, but still represents a mass force.
Yet, from the onset, YP is riddled with internal infighting in the leading group, which has led to public tensions and even expulsions.
So YP begins its life as a party — with big ambitions, a large base, but also deep divisions.
To discuss all these, we are talking today with Marcio Musse, a member of YP and a delegate in the recent YP founding conference.
