Building workers in Chabahar go on strike and bar engineers’ access to petrochemical plant

Re-post from Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign

On Monday, November 6th, the workers of the Arme-No Petrochemical Company of Chabahar, in Sistan and Baluchestan Province (south-eastern Iran), went on strike, demanding payment of five months’ unpaid wages. The workers did not show up at work and also prevented the company’s engineers from entering the plant.

Around 150 building workers of the petrochemical company, who have not been paid since June 2023, went on strike, followed months of their requests for their back-pay being ignored by managers.
