Just 24 hours after the Iranian regime’s ceasefire with Israel and US imperialism, three Kurdish political prisoners were executed on charges of espionage.
At dawn on June 25th 2025, Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei and Rasoul Ahmad Rasoul were executed in Urmia Prison. They were charged with waging “war against God” and “corruption on Earth” through their collaboration with Israel.
All three were arrested by the Iranian regime’s Intelligence Ministry in July 2023 and were accused of smuggling equipment for assassinations and espionage. In the Islamic Republic of Iran, forced confessions are routinely used as part of the detention and trial process of political prisoners.
The Shahrokh Zamani Action Campaign strongly condemns the arrest, detention and execution of Idris Ali, Azad Shojaei and Rasoul Ahmad Rasoul. We urge all trade unionists, socialists and other political activists to help us in defending the rights of all workers, political prisoners and social rights activists in Iran.
